White Prairie Clover (Dalea candida)

A native perennial plant with white flowers that are about 1/4” across, with 5 petals and 5 white stamens. The flowers often have a pleasant fragrance. It blooms June to August. It is drought tolerant. Grows well in full sun and prefers loamy, clay, sand, or gravel soils. Common in dry black soil prairies, sand prairies, savannas, openings in upland forests, and limestone glades. Found mainly east of the Rocky Mountains and West of the Appellation Mountains.
